Getting all the dings and dents out of your home and fixing certain things that may have been affected from years of living can be an easy task or a nightmare. Depending on what type of home you purchased, it may need a few touch ups or you may need to do a full blown renovation. We have a few solutions for your most common problems:

Peeling Walls

This could be a result of high humidity and condensation in your home from bad air circulation, humidifiers and even hot steamy showers. This is an easy fix depending on how much of the paint is peeling. If you have a few chipped areas you can do a quick paint job to blot the areas. If your peeling is extensive, you may have to redo the entire wall. Call in a few friends to scrape the old paint off, prime the walls and add a fresh coat of color. Add some designs for details or consider using wall paper. Adding a fresh coat of paint will give your room a fabulous revamp.

Got A Leak?

This could be a leak in your pipes or that irritating faucet that doesn’t shut tight enough. Head over to your local home improvement store and get new faucet parts. If you are a DIY whiz you can replace your faucet easily, if not, contact a local plumber and have them come replace it. If you have a leak in your pipe, it will require more extensive work and the leak may also be in the walls in your home. This can cause major damage and become a costly endeavor. Speak to your plumbing technician for possible solution.

If you live on the east coast, your lawn, driveway, back yard and garden took a beating this past winter. Now that the snow has left (in some areas), you can revamp you landscape and do some touch ups. For flowers, visit your local florist for recommendations on seasonal flowers. Keep your schedule in mind when purchasing, as some flowers need more TLC than others. If your schedule is busy, you may want to invest in plants that can survive if you forget to water them.

Weeds may have made themselves at home on your lawn and even on your driveway. You can manually pick them out of the ground or get weed spray if they are unmanageable.

Spruce up your lawn with your lawn mower and cut the grass. Grass usually grows back within two weeks depending on the rain, and the traffic on your lawn. Consider turf as an alternative, for high traffic areas or when you have an unsightly lawn, due to patches.
