What says Christmas more than the Christmas tree? Christmas trees create the feeling of holidays and love. For some, Christmas trees birth traditions, while others simply enjoy decorating and the smell. Years ago, Christmas trees were pretty ordinary. Today, they range from green, to black, various sizes, artificial and so much more.
The Upside Down Christmas Tree
The upside down Christmas tree is one of the hottest trends this season. One of its main purposes is to make the majority of the decorations visible at eye level. Though it’s oddly shaped, it’s literally the tree flipped upside down, which makes the ornaments much more noticeable because they are hanging away from the tree instead of within the tree.
Ornaments & Bulbs
No matter the size or color of your tree, nothing displays creativity more than DIY ornaments and bulbs. Fill your tree with ornaments and bulbs that represent you and what you love. This can be portraits, travel destinations and more. Stop by your favorite stores during the holiday season to see if they have ornaments; even Starbucks sells branded ornaments every holiday season. They are perfect for your tree and also serve well as stocking stuffers. But remember, a little DIY never hurt nobody!
Not So Traditional Options
For those that opt out of the traditional tree, there is an array of not so traditional options to choose from that are very creative.
- Invisible trees - Perfect eco-friendly option made of a string of bulbs, ornaments, and garland. No maintenance what-so-ever!
- Shelf Tree – Extremely non-traditional, yet so creative. Hang shelves that vary in dimensions in a tree pattern and dress them with your favorite items. For realism, place gifts on the floor beneath the shelves and above the shelves place (or nail) a tree topper of your choice.
So, whether you decide to take the traditional or the nontraditional route, you will be able to display all creative aspects of you and your family.
We want you show us your creative side and hashtag #moderndomesticEGL for your traditional or not so traditional décor.
