Apartment dwellers, can we join a support group to chat about how depressing our small spaces can feel sometimes. Aren’t you completely dissatisfied with your tiny bedroom? Below are some easy ways to add extra storage when you feel like you’ve used all the space there is.

Place Jewelry In Organizers & Hang In Closet

These organizers are super cute and incredibly thin, so it takes up very minimal space. They’re made to hang on your closet rod, but you can also hang these on your walls by a nail or hook. These jewelry organizers can eliminate having to put your least used pieces on top of your dresser (or desk), making your space look cluttered. You can also use these in place of a jewelry box (which usually tend to take away surface space that can be used for other functional or decorative items, like books, lamps, etc).

Use A Cake Stand To Store Must-Haves

I love these for storing things that are used often, like body sprays, lotions, and lipsticks and glosses. To learn how to make one of these yourself, check out our tutorial HERE

Use A Nightstand With Drawers For Storage

You can go with a wide one or a slim one (depending on your space capacity). The drawers can house clothes, accessories, books, junk, or anything else you can think of. If you have a small space and are using open-legged end tables on side of your bed, chuck those for nightstands with drawers.

Use Decorative Baskets To Hide Clutter

Baskets are perfect for hiding everything, extra linens, toys, toiletries, everything. You can go with neutral colored baskets or colorful ones to make the room pop and match a color scheme.

Try Bookshelves To Make Storage Go Up

I love using bookcases in bedrooms, because they help maximize small spaces. You can use small decorative boxes and baskets to store like items on the shelves. Bookcases are also great for shoes, folded clothes, books, and more. The uses for bookcases are unlimited.

Are you short on storage space? We’d love to hear about it in the comment section below. Share photos of your bedroom with us by tagging #moderndomesticEGL on all your social media photos.
