It’s beginning to look a lot like…Winter. It’s 2016! With entertaining family and friends for the holidays behind us, it’s time to put the emphasis right back where it belongs – on fixing up our house. Here are 3 Home Décor Trends which will be hot for 2016:

- Bathrooms As Living Spaces
Forget the old days where bathrooms were small spaces in the house designed for simple bathroom use. Transform your bathroom into a glorious living space or retreat of sorts. Break out the paint and forget painting your bathroom the usual boring nude colors – black, grey, tan. Instead, paint your bathroom with the colors to reflect your personality – teal, gold, salmon – you decide. To turn a bathroom space into a comfy nook place a comfy chair in your restroom (preferably in a nook by the sink) , throw a colorful throw pillow in the corner of the chair, and throw in an antique accent table to make your bathroom nook complete.

- Mismatched Kitchen Cabinets
Who says all kitchen surfaces have to match? While an all-white kitchen can be classic, you can personalize your kitchen by adding a little color or texture to the space. Pairing different cabinet styles together is a great way to personalize your kitchen.

- Tech Less Living Rooms
Connection with family, friends, and self will be an important theme in 2016. According to Elle Home Décor, many are opting to have tech free living rooms where all electronics are banned and family and personal time are held sacred. Want to design a tech less living room? It’s easier than you think. First, find an accent rug or carpet to jazz up living room space. Next, bring in your favorite couch or accent chairs. Third, purchase unique end tables from a local thrift store. Place family photo albums (great conversation starter) or classic books on the end table to create a space of optimal relaxation. Finally, unplug the TV and other electronics and ship to another room.
