Getting your home together can be overwhelming. Especially when you have a countless number of toys your children begged for, the must-read book collection you never touch and let’s not forget those random things that just keeps lingering around. It can get stressful trying to keep these things while still keeping your home neat and clean. Now, you can always just get plastic storage bins, but who really wants those hideous boxes amongst their beautiful décor? However, you still want to de-clutter and organize. Modern Domestic has some great DIYs and guess what? They’re affordable!
You guys know how we love the modernized duct tape. They have so many patterns and textures to choose from. Creating decorative storage bins out of cardboard boxes and plastic bins are just one of the many things duct tape can spruce up. Duck tape is very affordable (about 2 to 5 dollars a roll) and you can get boxes from the supermarket. These are usually about to be thrown out, anyway. Once you mark that off your list, you are ready for magic. Here’s how:
Things you will need:
Cardboard boxes / Plastic bin
Duct tape in whatever color or design you prefer
Scissors
Instructions
This may be the simplest DIY you have ever done! Start by cutting the tape and creating a pattern on your box or bin. Cover the outside with the pattern of your choice. It’s not necessary that you do the inside of the box or bin, but if you want to you can. When done begin to pack away – removing all the clutter. Take it to the next level by adding decorative letters and creating words such as “Toys” or your child’s name.
And that is it! Quick, easy and affordable!
