1. De-clutter
In order to create a romantic setting, your bedroom must be free from all clutter. That means that shoes and clothes must be in closets and drawers instead of the edge of your bed and all over the floor. It is time to sort, file and recycle those papers stashed in your corner and remove the handbags from your bedroom door knob. If your laundry basket is visible, ensure that it is not overflowing, or better yet, store it somewhere out of sight.

If you are looking for gender neutral colors –smoky grays and gloomy browns can also be romantic.
3. Romance Must-Haves

As previously mentioned, romance is what you make it. However, the mood can be killed if some things are not present.
Photos- Not just any photos, but exclusive and memorable photos of you and your boyfriend/husband. For extreme sex appeal, use black and white images.
Textiles- There should be a variety of materials and finishes throughout your bedroom. Satin sheets, silk curtains and a fur rug are perfect. Mirrors are important as well. Display them on the wall, ceiling, or free standing. You can never have too many.
Scents- Scented candles should be lit on a regular basis to ensure freshness. If you’re not a candle girl –scent warmers and potpourri work effortlessly. Spray sheets with linen spray for nights spent talking about your dreams with your significant other and breakfast in bed.
