Ever wanted to incorporate pink into your space, but was afraid it was too girly or cliché? Well, being that the month of October is dedicated to Breast Cancer Awareness, there is no better time to transform our living rooms into creative, pink heavens. The possibilities are endless when it comes to adding pink to your living room. Some might ask, “But isn’t that unfair to my boyfriend/husband?” The answer is… absolutely not! Besides, men look great in pink and athletes incorporate pink into their uniforms the entire month to support the cause. So, now that we’ve squared our boyfriends away, lets’ make our living rooms pop with pink in a way that you both will love.

There are a number of ways to add pink to your current space and color scheme. Believe it or not, pink compliments with a large variety of colors. Do not be afraid to step outside of the box and be creative.

If you have table and/or floor lamps, replace your current shades with pink shades. For a statement piece, add a pink chandelier.

Fill your couch with pink pillows of various sizes, textures and shades of pink.

Rugs are a great addition to every room. Place a large area rug beneath your coffee table to create the ultimate seating area vibe. Dress up your coffee and end tables with pink candles and flowers, and/or photos. Be sure to shop around, some stores carry home décor items with the breast cancer ribbon included into the design.

For those of you that want to go beyond with pink… Paint! Paint seals the deal for any space. Weather you paint an accent wall, every wall or just the borders, it will make a huge difference. Another option is wallpaper. People say wallpaper is dated, but that is false. How can something that allows you to explore your creative side ever be outdated? My only suggestion would be to make sure you love your wallpaper, only because it can be very time consuming to install. Nevertheless, the end results are breathtakingly beautiful, so it will be well worth it.
